Known as the most exclusive part of the island of Capri, Anacapri is the location for the exclusive Jumeirah Capri Palace with its superb views out over the island and the surrounding Gulf of Naples.   The property is the essence of Capri – contemporary art and design are combined with Michelin starred cuisine, an award winning spa and a refined elegance reminiscent of an ancient Neapolitan palace.  Add to this welcoming but unintrusive service from the staff, a huge well stocked wine cellar, not just one but 2 separate Michelin starred restaurants, beautiful rooms, hand-painted pools and impeccably groomed grounds.

The 49 rooms and 19 suites are all an homage to simple 20th Century design and are broken down into classic rooms – simple and in hues of beige and brown; superior rooms in Mediterranean colours of white and blue with fine linens and cottons. Suites have more of the nautical style of décor with wooden floors and colonial style ceiling fans or are individually themed and decorated – think Andy Warhol or Audrey Hepburn. Most rooms offer a balcony or terrace overlooking the gardens or the blues of the Gulf of Naples whilst some also boast private pools and gardens.

The Jumeirah Capril Palace is a food destination in its own right – the Il Riccio Restaurant and Beach Club holds the prestigious Michelin star and the chef (along with his team) showcases mouthwatering fish dishes. For those looking for a choice of superb food and drink Restauranjt L’Olivio holds not one but two Michelin stars and offers exquisite cuisine in a modern interpretation of traditional flavours. For a casual choice, Bistro Ragu sticks with traditional Italian style. All are able to access the Dolce Vite wine cellar with over 10000 bottles to chose from.

The onsite Capri Beauty Farm is an award winning medical spa that offers a range of individual or holistic therapies and is most well-known for the innovative “Leg School” that is used to improve circulation and lymphatic flow as well as boosting circulation and the metabolism. This is a fully staffed medical spa (the only one on the island) with a wide range of treatment regimes and one that has attracted numerous Hollywood stars but non-medical treatments can also be taken advantage of.

The large open-air swimming pool area was designed by Italian artist Velasco Vitali and is the perfect spot to while away a few hours in the sun. The unique underwater mosaic is particularly colourful. Further swimming opportunities are available at the Il Riccio beach club a few minutes from the hotel via the complimentary shuttle – which needs to be prebooked along with sunbeds within the beach club.
