NOTES

This interior part of Morocco can be cold especially during the winter months.  For any guests who wish to leave the property, car hire would be required.  As is the norm, appropriate dress may be required to enter any religious buildings.

Located in the Atlas Mountains close to the small settlement of Ouirgane, the Kasbah Africa is in the picturesque Azzaden River Valley facing the High Atlas Mountains and the Takerkhort Wildlife Reserve.  The lodge is an ideal base for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.  The charming property beautifully respects the local traditions of the area whilst still offering a stunning design – all combined with a rustic and laid-back Berber service.

The 8 stone built junior suites all have panoramic river and mountain views and can comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests. Located above the Azzaden River three unique SkyDomes offer a truly unique glamping experience in a private mountain setting. Each of these luxury tented rooms can accommodate up to 3 guests. Located on the terraced slopes of Kasbah Africa, the Berber Cottage enjoys a prominent valley side location with views across to the Takerkhort Nature Reserve and surrounding Atlas peaks. The Atlas Berber Cottage can comfortably sleep 4 guests plus 2 children in the salon. All the facilities of Kasbah Africa are available to guests renting the cottage and the SkyDomes. Each room comes with a telescope for stargazing and binoculars for wildlife watching along with field guides for the local birds and animals and a planisphere for the constellations.

Guests can enjoy a leisurely swim in the infinity pool which overlooks the river or relax on the lawn and enjoy the splendid beauty of the surroundings.Terraced orchards are filled with plum, peach, apple and olive trees. A restaurant offers indoor or outdoor dining with Moroccan and international menus. Sitting at the gateway to Toubkal National Park, the region is a walker's paradise: several day walks or overnight hikes are possible. Excursions by car can be made to the Ourika Valley, Agafay Desert, Tin Mal Mosque and the Ouirgane Valley. Mountain biking, horse-riding and spa are available locally. Access is via a scenic 3 km dirt track from Marigha.
