The Ortea Palace Hotel is a magnificent Mussolini-era post office that has been superbly transformed into an opulent, light-filled palace that commands views over the bridge between Syracuse and the island of Ortiga.  The focal point of this stunning building is the glass-roofed salon with bar and restaurant that occupies the courtyard where the postal vans were loaded in former days.
