  • There are many beautiful properties across Tuscany but the cypress lined driveway of Castello di Casole leads to one that is truly unique.  With views out over vineyards, orchards of olive trees, and the rolling countryside dotted with Tuscan farmhouses, every visitor here really does feel a world apart.
Over 4200 acres of private estate surrounds Castello di Casole which comprises of beautiful suites, elegant stone houses, and restored farmhouse villas each complete with dramatic glass tiled infinity pools.  A vision of self-sufficiency and sustainability, Castello di Casole has become a guardian of the land, preserving, enriching and sharing its produce so guests can continue to enjoy the infinite beauty.

The 39 suites and townhouses are all different – contemporary design in the Limonaia and Oliveta suite groups and Tuscan rustic comfort in the Castello suite groups of Casa del Prete and Tinaia. The newly imagined Etruria suites are just a 5 minute stroll from the main building and each pays homage to 1950s Italian contemporary design. The main building junior suites are refined, romantic and sophisticated commanding views over the interior courtyard or the surrounding countryside. The signature villas promise an exceptional level of comfort combined with the famous Belmond service. The beauty of a rich Tuscan heritage is combined with the feeling of an inviting home to be enjoyed with friends and family alike.

Breakfast is served each morning at the red-brick Ristorante Toscana where warm terracotta merges with Murano glass chandeliers and stained-glass-inspired paintings of the surrounding countryside. Dinner is also available here from a menu that has truly Tuscan heart. The hotel Bar Visconti has a handsome monochrome chequered floor and leather banquettes – the perfect location for glamourous cocktails or a cosy nightcap.

The heated infinity swimming pool is built into the hillside and offers superb views out over the rolling Tuscan hills, valleys and vineyards. Sunloungers and parasols surround it and there is always a member of staff around to serve drinks and snacks (pool closed November to March).

Essere – “to be” in Italian is the wine-cellar turned luxury spa. Vaulted ceilings, restored stone walls and Etruscan artefacts on display are combined with leading edge wellness therapies and treatments, Roman-bath inspired plunge pools, an east facing garden for yoga or pilates and a private outdoor relaxation garden.
