  • Down a tiny street in the heart of Milan’s fashion and design district and housed in a former perfume factory, the Maga Pars L’Hotel a Parfum is an uber stylish, all suite, family-owned boutique hotel.  Fragrances are used throughout the property to stimulate the senses – rooms are perfume infused, menus and cocktails stimulate the senses of smell, sight and taste.

    The lobby area is airy and open as a result of over-large windows, wood, glass and steel that all combine to give an impression of being in the open air.  Rooms are minimalist and overlook the lush central garden.  Each is named after flowering trees and plants or fruit trees that produce essential oils reminiscent of the building’s heritage from the perfume factory days.  Each also features a different scent from woody aromas of the outdoors to the more gentle botanicals of juniper and cedar.  Abstract paintings adorn the walls which depict the interpretation of the artist of each of these scents.  All are spacious with wooden floors and designer furniture including brightly coloured sofas or chairs.

    The Da Noi In restaurant is dominated by an in-view sleek stainless steel kitchen where the chef serves creatively presented Italian dishes made with the freshest of ingredients and the open wine cellar is full of fine Italian vintages. Overall, the atmosphere is convivial and pleasant whether dining is indoors or out on the terrace in the courtyard. The Liquid Amber lounge bar cocktail list includes no less than 39 perfume-scented cocktails.

    The library-lounge houses 18th, 19th and 20th Century books acquired over the years from a variety of sources across Europe. There is also a small gym, steam room and relaxation area available to guests. Yoga and massage therapies can be arranged and the ground-floor Lab-Solu Perfume Laboratory is filled with perfumes and candles for purchase. Essence of Living here can create an individual tailor-made scent for any guest.
