Far distant from it’s origins as a flour mill, today, the Hilton Molino Stucky is a large hotel that has over 350 rooms and offers the second largest spa in the whole of Venice, a rooftop pool and multiple restaurants and bars. 

Despite sounding frenetic, the location of the hotel – Guidecca – is a peaceful escape from the intensity of Piazza San Marco.  The island is a thriving artistic kind of place and visitors can find some beautiful artist’s studios, galleries and jewellers.  St Marks remains around 15 minutes by Vaporetti or the hotel courtesy waterbus.

Today, the building is recognised as one of Italy’s most iconic examples of European industrial architecture. The mix of this with the classical Renaissance architecture of the rest of Venice is reflected in the style throughout – Venetian artisanal glass, mirrors and gilding are paired with simpler yet crafted furnishings.

Many of the rooms offer canal views and are generally split into 2 very distinct syles: traditional with fabric-lined walls and ornate Venetian mirrors, or more modern with clean lines and contemporary furnishings; but always with a neutral, natural palette. All are well sized with suites being more generous making them ideal for families. Executive rooms allow access to the Executive Lounge which offers a variety of complimentary drinks and snacks. For views, opt for the spectacular tower suites or the presidential suite which is the largest and highest in Venice and offers 360 degree views.

Among the best features of the Hilton Molino Stucky are the rooftop pool on the 8th floor which offers outstanding views over the city of Venice and the bell tower of Piazza San Marco. The pool is generally open from mid May to mid-September. The Eforea Spa is one of the latest in Venice and is an oasis of well-being offering a wide range of treatments. Prebooking is required for the spa. There is also a 24 hour fitness area with free weights and aerobic machines.
