From it’s position in a beautifully converted 19th Century villa right on the waters edge of Lake Como, Villa Fiori provides stunning views over the southern basin and to the surrounding countryside.  The tranquil lakefront promenade leads directly into the centre of Como itself. The lakefront gardens are shaded by a Lebanese cedar, a beautiful southern magnolia and a weeping Japanese pagoda tree.  To the north of the property is the town of Cernobbio from where ferries criss-cross the lake.

The 19th Century villa originally served as the residence of several Lombardian families after it was built for a wedding gift for Giuseppina Raimondi and her husband General Garibaldi but never lived in by the couple. The staff are always delighted to fill any guest in on a fuller version of the history of the property.

Today, many of the original features have been beautifully preserved including Venetian stucco, wall panelling and terrazzo floors. Arched ceilings add warmth and create intimate seating nooks with pretty lake views. Furnishing are a classy blend of traditional elements combined with the contemporary – think antique pieces with velvet chairs in deep, bold hues.

Rooms, generally compact, have parquet floors and luxurious cushioned headboards and most come with balconies and those views over the surrounding area or Lake Como. It really is worth any supplement for a room with a lake view. Bathrooms are decorated in black and white that gives a sophisticated feeling.

Breakfast is offered in the ground floor restaurant that opens out onto a lakefront terrace. During the day, lunch is also offered from the lounge bar and for dinner the elegant Raimondi restaurant offers a full menu of local dishes.

The attic fitness room and 4th floor sun terrace offer superb lake views for either working out or simply relaxing. For the ultimate in glamour, guests can also arrive directly to the hotel’s own private jetty.
