Perched on the edge of the rocky cliffs of the southern coast of Sao Miguel island and just a 15 min drive into Ponta Delgada, the White Azores really do embody what is best about the island.  Barefoot luxury, comfortable accommodation and impeccable service all combine to make this a superb property.  Humble vineyard origins have been transformed into a true oasis of calm.

The nine suites and two villas here (all adult only – the property does not accept guests under 14) offer superb and endless sea views (except La Maison) and are fully equipped with all the requirements of today’s discerning guests. Junior Suites and Unique Suites are located on the ground floor with direct access to the terrace and shared infinity style pool. Ocean Suites are on the first floor and offer floating balconies with more of those views. “The Villa” is tucked away on the cliffs and has its own secret heated jacuzzi. “La Maison” is a luxury 4 bedroom villa just a few hundred metres from the main property and also has a private heated outdoor pool. Throughout, the white walls and blues of the sea are reminiscent of a quintessentially Greek property but the Azorean touches such as basalt walls, volcanic lintels and occasional stone beams soon confirm that White Suites truly is Azorean.

For guests that want to explore rather than laze by the pool, hire car would be beneficial for stays at this property although the hotel does offer a guide and transfer services.  There is also an in-house massage service, the opportunity to arrange yoga classes or even hire the resort’s 9 metre chauffeured motor-launch – perfect to explore the other neighbouring islands, or simply to find secluded coves for swimming, snorkelling or diving.  There is no restaurant on site, but the hotel kitchen can arrange light bites throughout the day (as well as breakfast!) and evening wine and food parings can be arranged with notice to the hotel staff.
