There really are just a few hotels on Mallorca that truly allow guests to totally escape; set in the hilltop village of Estellencs, the Maristel Hotel & Spa is one of those.  

Vintage style and totally personal service are combined here in what can only be described as an art form.  Escape from everything and be seduced by the total tranquillity of the local area.  

Arrival is either via a sweep around the lush valley climbs from the west or the dramatic hairpin bends of  the mountain roads from the west, and the hotel is in one of the most picturesque areas of the Tramuntana Sierra (a World Heritage site due to the spectacular scenery).  Estellenc is little more than a couple of dozen pretty stone houses clustered around the cobbled lanes surrounded by superb scenery and stunning sea views.

There are 53 rooms here spread over 2 buildings in a range from cosy doubles which overlook the hotel gardens to suites with impressive valley views. Interior design throughout is modern and smart with high-end touches such as marble tiling and traditional dark-wood furniture. Splash out for rooms with sea view balcony or a lounge area with sofabed.

Undoubtedly the highlight of the Maristel Hotel & Spa is the beautiful terrace from which guests can enjoy breath-taking views of the mountains and down to the sea. The terrace contains the outdoor pool area surrounded by comfy loungers. The wellness spa complete with whirlpool, heated indoor pool, sauna and Turkish bath provides even more relaxation.

The terrace restaurant is the location for the rich breakfast and is a perfect spot to start the day with those ever-changing views. Special emphasis is placed on fresh, local ingredients for all meals here.

The small bay of Cala d’Estellencs with its crystal clear waters is around 1km from the hotel. The rocky shores here are prefer for snorkelling.

The sunset from the hotel terrace with a sundowner is especially breath-taking and a wonderful end to any day.
