Set in two 16th and 17th Century mansions that sit right on the waters edge just 5 minutes from Palma, the Hospes Maricel & Spa immerses all guests in total tranquillity.  Panoramic ocean views and a tucked away location makes it a perfect spot to totally unwind and relax.  The property today is one of Mallorca’s finest – avant garde architecture and that privileged sea front location also make it one of the island’s most emblematic hotels.

Famous architect Xavi Claramunt created the hotel’s modern additional wing Natura – an ultra-modern natural stone and wood building which also contains the hotel spa Bodyna. This is set across the busy road but accessible by a private tunnel through the lush gardens.

The 51 rooms and suites are split across the two buildings – 29 in the original palace and 22 in Natura. Palace rooms all have sea views from windows but no terraces – there are a couple of premium rooms with terraces and 4 suites here though. Natura rooms have mini plunge pools and terraces although not all offer sea views.

Restaurant Maricel is used for all meals here – breakfast being either buffet style (gourmet breakfasts are available for an upgrade locally – which offer an improvised menu that changes seasonally in the form of a tasting menu of multiple courses). Lunch and dinner offer a variety of typical Mallorcan dishes. During the day, the pool bar is also available for snacks and drinks and the perfect sundowner for by the pool watching the spectacular sunsets.

The Hospes Marical & Spa offers excellent facilities including the Bodyna spa where guests can avail of all of the usual treatments, a gym, sauna, hot tub and steam room. Treatments can also be arranged in small natural grottos close to the large outdoor infinity pool and solarium at the rear of the palace building which overlooks the sea. Clients are also able to swim directly off the hotel private jetty.
