Totally and unashamedly inspired by the hippy culture of the 1960’s, and Formentera’s first 5 star hotel, the Five Flowers borrows as much from the swinging 60’s era of London as it does from the birth of the hippy travellers to Ibiza.  

The hotel is just 250m from the endless blue of the Mediterranean sea in Es Pujols which is as much of a resort as Formentera gets.  The famous Mary Quant flower motif features heavily throughout the hotel with female staff wearing uniforms reminiscent of her style.  Gleaming white spaces are punctuated with brightly coloured squashy cushions in vivid pink or mustard.  The Five Flowers is definitely not a back-to-basics, bleached wood destination.

The 79 rooms (including 2 suites) all feature one wall with a blown up mural of hippyish beach goers, a VW camper van or other scenes that invoke the feeling of the swinging 60’s. The overwhelming base is that dazzling white but the splashes of bright colours and that ever present daisy pattern continue. Sky category rooms overlook the main pool area and have access to a private roof terrace with jacuzzi and loungers.

Day to day life here revolves around the main pool area where there are plentiful loungers and day beds. There is also another rooftop swimming pool which offers panoramic views. The basement gym has all the equipment for a workout and there are several spaces both indoor and outdoor for yoga. The spa area has a hypnotherapy area, sauna, jaccuzzi and treatment rooms.

The hotel offers a fine dining restaurant named Janis (after Janis Jopling) and a more relaxed casual offering called Imagine. There is also a rooftop cocktail bar which is perfect for sundowners and offers panoramic island and sea views.
