  • Pasha is a superb luxury and very contemporary villa with private pool directly at the sea.

In Ottoman times the Sultan would reward his loyal Generals and Courtiers – the Pashas – with prime pieces of land and that’s why we call this Pasha House – a beautiful seafront villa on the Bodrum Peninsula; a better location for this stunning contemporary styled villa would be hard to find. There is nothing obscuring the view to the sea and it is just a few metres to the fabulous decked jetty equipped with sun beds and sun shades.

Pasha House is situated on a residential complex set in beautifully matured private gardens; it is peaceful and exclusive. Built on a hillside the entrance to the complex is from high on the hill and you wend your way downwards towards the sea and the public amenities, there is a tennis court, a childrens’ playground, a small restaurant and a superb communal swimming pool surrounded with sunbathing terraces. It’s just a few steps from the very private garden of Pasha’s House to these facilities.

The villa itself is incredibly spacious, it’s contemporary, uncluttered and the perfect summer location. Glass doors from the open plan interior are left open so that the indoor and outdoor areas merge and the magnificent sea view is forever displayed. Comfortable rattan settees provide seating under one of the many shaded terraces. A garden pergola is a quiet place to curl up with a book or just admire the manicured garden and the very nice swimming pool with superb overflow is surrounded by decked terraces.

This is not a villa for those who want to enjoy local village life and stroll out; the local area comprises similar residential complexes built around the bay and therefore a car is necessary to take you to nearby Yalikavak where there are numerous restaurants and shops. There are a number of steps from the parking area to the house and therefore we do not recommend this property for the infirm.

    A little information about Yalikavak

The thriving town of Yalikavak is situated just a 10 minute drive from Lower Gökçebel and is a favourite destination; in the months of July and August visiting celebrities emerging from super elegant yachts cause a certain sophistication to descend on the town. Ali Baba, situated on the bay but within walking distance of the town centre is one of our most stunning properties.  The town has a small harbour with a handsome 300 year old windmill to one side. Restaurants line the sea front and in the streets running back from the sea, grocery shops and fresh fruit and vegetable shops nestle alongside an art gallery housed in an old water cistern and a kilim showroom in a former olive oil press.

The striking mosque with its two minarets stands on the hillside and watches over the village. Thursday is market day and locals from nearby villages throng to town to stock up with fresh fruit and vegetables. Enjoy hand-picked citrus from local orchards and pass the time of day over a few cups of strong Turkish coffee sitting under the shady plane trees after which the area is named.

There is a beach in town but there is a plentiful selection of public beaches and beach clubs in the area. On the coast road towards Gümüşlük is the smart new yacht marina, Palmarina with elegant shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and yachts to match! A little further on there is a great selection of seaside fish restaurants. There are numerous walks in the area; one of the best with spectacular views must be from the small settlement of Geris perched at the top of a mountain and only a few kilometres from Yalikavak centre. With spectacular views and cooling breezes our favourite property in Geris is Karma.  A local hike may find you stumbling across derelict windmills, the deserted Greek village of Sandima, Lycian rock tombs and even a temple dedicated to Zeus, a perfect picnic spot.

Whilst Geris is high on the hill, down at sea level the area is known as Geris Altisi – Under Geris – and this area is very famous for the fabulous choice of restaurants built directly on the sea, our sea front property Sarp is within a short walk of these restaurants. Zada Tash offers views over a hidden valley to the Palmarina and the bays of Yalikavak.
