    BEACHES

    The sea and beach clubs in Kalkan town are approximately a 20 minute drive from the villa. Both Kaputaş beach and Patara beach are approximately 30 minutes’ drive from Islamlar.

    SHOPS

    There is a small grocery market in Islamlar serving essential items and a handful of restaurants within walking distance of the villa including the Üzüm Bistro (closed for 2017 due to illness) which is run by the owners of the villa. Kalkan town, a 20 minute drive, offers larger supermarkets and a weekly fruit and vegetable market. There are many restaurants, cafes and bars in Kalkan town centre.

    NEAREST AIRPORT

    Dalaman Airport is 1 hour and 50 minutes by car.

    NOTES

    Maid service is provided on a daily basis for light cleaning, with towels & bed linen changed every two days. Not suitable for those with mobility problems.

     

  • Uzum Evi, Islamlar is an Ottoman style, traditionally built village house dating back almost 100 years. The opportunity to stay in such historic surroundings is rare.

    Şakir and Hülya, the owners, have taken a great deal of time and effort with the authenticity and quality of the renovation to ensure the house remains true to its origins; wooden balconies, wooden window shutters and decorative overhangs adorn the exterior; as a result, Üzüm Evi looks and feels like an authentic Turkish home but with every comfort one could wish for!

    The location is high in the mountains where the air is fresh and the views are magnificent. There’s an irregularly shaped pool with a small waterfall flowing into it surrounded by sun terraces and an outdoor dining terrace. It’s a perfect base for walking in the spring and late summer.

    Remote though Üzüm Evi is, it is well placed for easy exploration of the region. The relatively cosmopolitan delights of Kalkan are just 20 minutes away and the vast sands of Patara which can be seen from the terrace are a short 25-minute drive. The local village and restaurants are just a ten-minute stroll away.

    The Üzüm Bistro (closed for 2017 due to illness) is a tiny 10 seater restaurant situated close to Üzüm Evi, Salkim Evi,  View With A Room and Yasemin Evi. Consider it your own personal dining room, the location with a handful of candle and lantern lit tables enjoy the fabulous sun set view over the valley. It’s reservation only and for those nights when you’d prefer not to head away from home it’s the perfect option.

    Salkim Evi and View With A Room are situated in the vicinity and may Üzüm Evi suit those who wish to have friends holidaying nearby. This is a very special property suited to those who enjoy an authentic holiday experience.

The Room Details

Ground Floor: The very traditional beamed open plan traditionally styled kitchen and small sitting room opens on to a terrace that runs the length of the house and is the perfect place for lamp lit dining. 

First Floor: In keeping with the original design, an outdoor staircase leads from the ground floor terrace to the first floor. A large terrace scattered with comfortable cushions (in olden days this was an outdoor sleeping area) is situated at the top of the steps. Cool in the shade of the trees and with wonderful vistas, it is a wonderful spot for a siesta. Again, as is traditional, three separate doors lead from the terrace into the two comfortable bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds (can be used as a dressing room), whose thick old walls ensure they remain cool at all times (although air-conditioning is also provided). The bedrooms still have the original ornately carved shelves, wardrobe and blanket box fittings. A small open air corridor accesses the bathroom with shower and WC.
