Description
A charming hamlet in the Chianti region, Borgo Pietra offers spacious luxury self catering apartments and a few bed and breakfast rooms with breathtaking views across typical Tuscan countryside, not far from the town of Castellina. The estate is a beautiful sun bleached hamlet spread out over the hilltop surrounded by immaculate walled gardens and lush and well tended lawns.
The apartments are split between five separate buildings and each has its own entrance. Spacious and extremely well furnished with echoes of the care and attention to detail shown in the gardens they offer a comfortable home from home in the desirable Tuscan mould.
The 8 bed and breakfast rooms are in the main building and are quiet and relaxing with elegant tiled floors and fine furnishings. There are standard and superior room, superior rooms being larger and having a large en-suite bathroom with bath tub. All rooms have satellite TV, en-suite bath/shower room, hairdryer, telephone and Wi-Fi internet. A sumptuous buffet breakfast is served in one of the old wine cellars.
The immaculate restoration took over 5 years to complete as the artisans were allowed to take their time renovating the white washed walls, cotto brick floors and beamed ceilings by hand. The interiors are unfussy yet homely with watercolours on the walls, of local sights, and a pleasing blend of modern rustic furniture with a few well chosen antiques to welcome you.
The location of this borgo in the heart of Chianti is unsurpassed, the views, breathtaking as it is close to one of the main towns of the area Castellina, where you’ll find a number of good restaurants and shops. Relaxation is assured, the service unsurpassed and the quality of the finish incredible. This borgo offers the traveller an opportunity to live the Tuscan dream and we have no doubt that you’ll never want to leave: we didn’t.

Shops bar station and supermarket in Castellina 4km away, Poggibonsi has a large supermarket and public tennis courts at only 11 km, beautiful Radda in Chianti and horse riding 15 km, crenellated Monteriggioni 18 km, famous San Gimignano 24 km, Siena and the Ugolino golf course both at 25 km in opposite directions and the less well known postcard village of Gaiole in Chianti 26 km.

ONE BEDROOM APARTMENTS (Sleeps 2/3, Self catering) - Good sized living/dining room with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen corner, living room with sofa bed, one twin/double bedroom and bathroom with shower. Furnished garden area.
TWO BEDROOM APARTMENTS (Sleeps 4/5, Self catering) - Living/dining room, fully equipped kitchen area, two double bedrooms. Some apartments have two bathrooms and patio area.
LA CAPANNA (Sleeps 4, Self catering) - Independent house for a maximum of 4 people. One double bedroom, 1 single room, living room with sofa bed and fireplace, kitchen area and equipped garden area.
LARGE APARTMENTS (Sleeps 5/6, Self catering) - Large living room with fireplace, kitchen, two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, and fully equipped garden area.
CASA IL TORRINO (Sleeps 6/7, Self catering) - Living/dining room with fireplace and sofa bed, fully equipped kitchen, two double bedrooms, circular staircase up to two single bedrooms. One on 1st floor with shower room and 2nd on top floor of the tower. Fully equipped garden area.
STANDARD/SUPERIOR ROOMS: (Sleeps 2, Bed & Breakfast) - There are 8 standard and superior room, superior rooms being larger and having a large en-suite bathroom with bath tub. All rooms have satellite TV, en-suite bath/shower room, hairdryer, telephone and Wi-Fi internet. Bed & Breakfast rooms are only available between 1st June and 30th September.

Fans available on request. Complementary cots. Sofa beds are available in all apartments, some single some double depending on space. Each apartment has its own furnished allocated garden area - some being more private than others due to layout.
SHARED SWIMMING POOL:
Unheated 14 X 7m infinity edge swimming pool with Chianti vineyard views. Sun beds and sun umbrellas provided. Pool open 01 May to 30 October - weather permitting.

During peak season reception organises free wine and oil tasting for their guests.

Price
Prices quoted are for a two bedroom apartment based on 7 nights stay. Saturday arrivals only. There are flexible arrival days in low and mid-season. Minimum stay: 7 days in peak season (Saturday only), 4 days in mid-season, 3 in low season. A final cleaning charge will apply for shorter stays and will be advised at time of booking. The property is closed: 7/1/12 to 9/3/12. Please ask us for prices outside the dates shown above and for short durations. Cots are available free of charge (must be requested at time of booking).
