Decorated in the country style of the region; exposed beams, sun bleached cotto brick and soft pastel walls with stone detailing. La Rota truly is a fine example of the restorers art and the excellent taste of the English speaking owners. The informal gardens are a delightful feature of the property laid mostly to lawn with large shrubs and mature trees, their peace and tranquillity the perfect balm to the stressed out soul.

Local distances: The house, which is approached down an unmetalled road, is about 5 km from the hilltop village of Civitella del Lago. Larger towns such as Corbara 8 km, Orvieto 18 km, Todi 25 km. Deruta 48 km, Montefalco 54 km, Assisi 73 km, Perugia 64 km, Spoleto and Lake Bolsena are all within easy reach. Siena, Florence and Rome are 11/2 hours away. We recommend the Fattoria di Vibio at Monte Castello - their food is truly wonderful.
