It can often happen that single holidaymakers get a raw deal when it comes to travelling alone. Booking a holiday in one of our Italian villas can be a way around the problem. They offer independence, privacy and a real taste of Italian life.
We would like to make some suggestions based on first hand experience for single people seeking fun holidays with sophisticated nightlife, away from younger revellers and without any pressure. There is no stigma at all to eating alone, or travelling alone in Italy.
Despite this, Italy is NOT considered your typical singles destination. Naturally, it is awash with galleries, museums, shopping experiences and sport of every shape and size but to enjoy these things you don’t need to travel with other people. Italians as a rule are welcoming and friendly and singles don’t face the same isolation and stigma as in the UK. Women can travel safe in the knowledge that the cities, towns and countryside of Italy are safe if not considerably safer than their equivalent in the UK. Men can travel and not feel as though they are on a business trip as fitting in isn’t necessary – you can become a part of this glorious society in seconds.
Italy is a wealthy country, its citizens are educated to a high standard, erudite, multilingual and most of all, safe. As long as you remember the four simple rules of travel.
1 – Don’t expect to find things as they are at home. 2 – If you want or need something then ask for it, even in English. 3 – Go with the flow. 4 – Don’t take unecessary risks.
