Yuo will be amezed by the stunnning scenarios, beaches, cristalline sea waters, mountains and century of history and tradition. In Sicily life is lived full on and for the moment. This is an island to be visited with an open mind and a healthy appetite.

The eastern coast is where the most rewarding collection of cities and towns are to be found, amongst them, Siracusa and our featured resorts of Taormina, Ragusa, Noto and Modica. Syracusa is a historic city in Sicily. It is notable for its rich Greek history, culture, amphitheatres, architecture.

Taormina, idyllicly perched on a rocky promontory high above the sea,  has been the most popular tourist destination in Sicily for a couple of hundred of years, ever since it became an integral part of the Grand Tour. Beautifully restored mediaeval buildings, breathtaking views around every corner and a giddy network of winding streets strewn with shops, bars and restaurants make for a perfect holiday spot. Carved into a hillside by the Greeks and later refurbished by the Romans, Taormina’s Hellenic Theatre boasts probably the most dramatic scenery of any theatre in the world and features excellent acoustics; always evident during the annual summer arts festival.

Ragusa‘s baroque architecture has earned it UNESCO World Heritage status. It’s an unusual town, divided into two parts – the Upper Town and Ibla.

After the earthquake of 1693 destroyed most of the town, half the people decided to build on the ridge above town and the other half renovated the old town. Ibla, the lower town, is reached on foot by a series of stairways or by bus or car on a winding downhill road.

Plan a visit to Modica, a Baroque town in the southeast of Sicily. The area, including Noto, Ragusa, and Scicli is sometimes called the Baroque Valley and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Besides Baroque architecture, Modica is known for chocolate and its main street has several good chocolate shops.

On the southeastern coast of Sicily, the scenic city of Noto holds a unique festival in May called the Infiorata. Artist works with  a special organic soil to outline a scene on the sidewalk which is filled in with specially prepared fllower petals, along with other organic seeds and dried lugumes.

Sicily abounds in fish, vegetables and olive oil which provide the fundations of traditional Sicilian cuisine; and ingredients inherited from Arab invaders add an exotic flavour that is not commonly found on mainland Italy.
